Not at their homes. That's where some must still be running WMC on Win7.

It's highly unlikely that absolutely no-one at MS knows about the issue. I just can't comprehend that.

Really?

I take it you've never worked for a large corporation?

WMC is dead.

Nothing here. Guide update goes quickly, still says expires 4/13, actually runs out right before then.

Then you'd better stop using it.

and hold ur horses?

i remember back when Coca-Cola was so dead that nobody but nobody would bet it ever had a chance to ever exists again. and especially never even a fraction, of what it once was... lesson is that u never count out something a corporation sells.

WMC could surface again. Say, why not? Surface on the Surface (and continue on all OS's including another newer phone one) like never thought of and improved. A few updates here and there and poof!!! a whole new WMC! Just how to monopolize and profit with it is all M$ needs to figure out 1st. After all no 4k support was going to require a major over haul, anyways. M$ is about money and this opportunity would not have been overlooked.

Ok, hold on one second, we need to backup the boat....

I setup a new Rovi test enviro yesterday and once setup I checked lisitngs and only had up to 14th.
When checking this morning, I actually selected a channel and scrolled down to get to the end of the listings. Each channel picked at random ends 19th with data.
If you test by just having a group of channels in view and scroll right it stops on the 14th 8:30AM and will not move further right.
It looks like some sort of guide db corruption.

Checking About Guide Listings states: End Date 20/04/2016 2:00AM

Setting a repeat test recording does go past the sticky date on the 14th to the end of the data set.

Hah, your comment cracked me up STC. It is funny how some consistently, repeatedly announce that WMC is dead, yet still participate in this forum. If you have had enough of WMC (and that is a completely understandable position) then why are you still here commenting?

I think Adam is referring to the support of the product which we all know has long since departed. In any event, WMC will continue to be used for many years to come, whether it requires third party guide data or not. In my book that makes it still alive.

I bet they are playing political "chicken" at Microsoft. Someone in accounting said they should no longer have anyone staffing WMC maintenance and the team was officially disbanded. And the programmer/manager that occasionally restarted the guide after DST is waiting to say "See, I told you we need WMC maintenance funding".

This is a known bug, I've mentioned it here recently. If you do another guide update, it usually fixes it (and sometimes exiting and restarting WMC fixes it as well). It is just a display/GUI issue, the underlying guide data is still there.

Hopefully mine will update later today as well...

Space, thank you. Interesting I shall have a play this evening. I presume it's due to the gap being refilled.

No response to me email (just sent another one).

There's no one else *I* can ask. There is no team/sustained engineering for WMC and there isn't any "official" feedback channel other than the one way "feedback" Connect site (and I don't even know if that is being monitored any more). I don't think anything will change (and it will probably get worse...)

...Having feedback for the Connect site active yet un-monitored is just perfect and typical MS.... Couldn't have done it better myself....

Isn't there someone on this forum from Ceton who has some connections with Microsoft who has contacted them in the past about these EPG issues - if you are still on this forum it might be a good time to contact you connections again if you can.

Ceton do not frequent this site any more. The staff members that did come here no longer work for Ceton.
