Power Adapter for HP X280N
I think that I'm just about to purchase an X280N from eBay, but it has neither a remote, or a power adapter.
I already have a source for the remote, so that's not a problem, but I'm having problems tracking down the specifications for the power supply.
From images, I can see that it requires 22W (Max) at 19V, but I don't know what the size of the DC connector pin is.
Does anyone have a part number for the power adapter, or has previously sourced a cheap/simple replacement?
Many thanks!

Where did you find a remote. I have ebayed an hp without remote (I have a power supply). Most of the remotes on ebay look different than the extender remote.

I also eBay'd an X280n for a family member not too long ago. It also didn't come with a remote or power adapter. Thanks to a former member on here I found the remote, it's part number is 5189-3685. I used an old laptop power supply I had laying around (from a super old IBM Thinkpad). I don't have the size or anything but it is very common, I actually had a few that fit.

I believe you can buy a replacement remote here, http://www.replacementremotes.com/Hewle ... aQodjl0A8g. Also, I am looking at the same ebay listing for the x280n that comes with the unit only and no cables or remote. Will this be problem during setup? I do have a harmony 550 that still works decently. I am looking to replace an xbox 360 that I was using as a wmc extender but it has since been moved since I purchased an xbox one but as well all know lacks wmc support.

I've been striking out finding the power adapter for the x280n.
I used to power it with an old Lenovo Q150 adapter and it worked fine.
I sold the Q150 with the adapter and bought a "universal" power adapter that was rated for 19v.
Unfortunately, it produces a spark when I try to connect it.
Then I searched on ebay for a Q150 replacement adapter and it also produces a spark.
I checked the polarities and both the universal and the Q150 replacement are negative but the x280N needs a positive.
I can't find a replacement on ebay with a positive polarity! Anyone have any luck?

I am pretty sure I used one meant for an IBM Thinkpad T41. Like this:

That looks like a 16v though. Doesnt the HP need a 19v?
I tried a correct polarity adapter for my zotac nano ci320 and it worked well. I wish I could find a replacement as I need that adapter for the zotac !

I noticed that too when searching for it. Just going on memory but I am pretty sure that is what I used.

I have a HP x280n and am wondering if upgrading the power supply will reduce the frequency of it turning on by itself. I heard that this might be due to the power quality or input spikes. I might have to look for one. I tried a smart power strip, but my 46 inch tv did not pull enough power to activate the switch in the power strip reliably.
