Recorded storage keeps resetting back to default

#1

Post by hockeypfef » Tue Dec 30, 2014 3:38 pm

So I change my recorder storage by going to Settings/TV/Recorder/Recorder Storage and change the drive from C to E. C is my SSD and E is a 1TB harddrive I have in my computer also. It takes and everything works, but then like 10 minutes later, it gets reset back to C with Max TV Limit of 25GB. So I then tried the registry hack: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Recording and change RecordPath and Watched Folders both to my E Drive. Same thing happens.

Any ideas what the heck is going on?

Thanks,
Chris

Is the 1TB drive an internal drive? Or is it external (usb, firewire, etc)? I would check your sleep settings either way and make sure that Windows is not putting the drives to sleep when not used. Yes, this shouldn't be an issue but who knows.

Yes it is internal. I will check the sleep settings.

Is that a third party application? If so, no. The only third party application I have is RecordedTVHD.

A quick scan of the recordedhdtv website forum implies that it has a built in drive pooling feature. I would check to see if thats configured properly.

As a troubleshooting technique, I'd uninstall that plug in and see if normal operation resumes.

That was it! Thank you! The setting is kind of hidden.
