ASUS Vivo PCs

I know that technically an entire off-the-shelf PC is not a component (so maybe this is the wrong forum to ask) but would a ASUS VivoPC VM40B Desktop Computer with an Dual-Core 1.5 GHz Intel Celeron be powerful enough to run as a WMC HTPC? I've always frowned upon Celerons but I have no idea if they are powerful enough to pull it off. CPU Boss compared it to an Core i3 processor and declared choosing a winner was too close to call.

With a street price of $230-$240, it is so tempting. Short of getting one and testing it, how can you tell if this would work as a dedicated HTPC?

Not sure how it compares to an N2820 but I have that in an Intel NUC and it handles media center fine. You may want to look at one of them, built in IR receiver for $130 (need to add ram and ssd though)

Adam, the same one we talked about in this thread:

In that thread I mention running XBMC but am now running Win7 Media Center again.

Got mine from Amazon.

Every Asus SFF Pc we've ever seen has been pretty dire. From bad caps, either plague damaged or just bad design plonking them in hot places, BGA chips coming away from the board, poor soldering....
