"Western Digital's (WD) HGST subsidiary today announced it has added 8TB and 10TB hard drives to its HelioSeal product line, which hermetically seals in helium in order to reduce internal drive friction and power use. "

Write once, read many... Sounds ok for HTPC use. It seems geared toward archival use. I recall companies like facebook wanting this kind of storage, where photos are saved once and never edited so frequent rewrites aren't required.
