New OS install

#1

Post by Yippee38 » Wed Aug 06, 2014 12:32 am

I just re-installed my Operating System. Of course, when doing so, I removed the InfiniTV card. Once I had the OS up and running again, I installed the card and drivers as well as the cable card. However, I am not seeing any channels.

Do I need to re-pair the InfiniTV and cable card just because I re-installed my OS? How do I get the card to repopulate the channels?

DCA would be next, followed by tuner setup.

I'm drawing a blank. What is DCA?

First Install PlayReady..
Open Media Center >Navigate to Tasks /Settings > TV > TV Signal > Install PlayReady .. Reboot the PC for good measure.
Open Media Center Navigate up to Extras > Extra's Gallery
Run the Digital Cable Advisor all the way through and update the system settings.
Then try tuning a TV station again.

Wow, I don't think I would have solved this for Yippee38. Due to his avatar, I would have assumed that he was running Linux.

My hope is that eventually I will be able to get this card working on linux (I have serious doubts though). Right now I'm testing on Windows though. About to try it on Ubuntu for the first time.

Ah Ha! The old configure the tuner in windows, then pop it into the Ubuntu trick.

One can hope (though that one isn't me).
