Xbox360 Video Preview in WMC7

One thing I really like about using the Xbox360 extender is that when you hold down the skip button it gives you a little preview screen so you can see where you're skipping to. Is there a setting on WMC7 so that you can enable the same thing.

That's the default behavior, both on extenders (except the Echo, due to a bug on the Echo) and directly on the PC. Unless you're not using an MCE IR receiver.

If that was the case on the Echo before, it's been fixed in the last firmware they put out...

OK, so I stand corrected. I know that at one point, it wouldn't display the thumbnail preview when you press-hold the skip/replay buttons.

I'm using the gyration media center remote. If I hold down skip on that it just skips more rapidly.

It must not be sending the correct command then.

^ there is a .reg file that you can import for the gyration remote in order for it to use the full media center commands I believe.

Have you used that? (there is one for x86 and one for x64).

You might need to copy/paste some reg keys into the relevant users' branch in order for it to work maybe?

@holidayboy: Can you post a link? We need to build a repository of information here on TGB.tv now that WEC is gone.

I see this behavior on my Echos.

The .reg files I'm thinking of add 'triple tap' abilities to the remote for text input. They may well not help with this issue.

I think I have copies if anybody wants them to try.

Thanks, I don't believe I have used that so that may be why. I'll poke around tonight when I get home and see if I can find it.
