Can anyone recommend a decent quality USB IR receiver?

Just as a follow up to any future URC R40 users that may come across this post, the remote DOES have MCE codes programmed into it. It's still worth getting a receiver with a remote though because I did have to learn the Slip Back and Skip Forward commands as they didn't work.

Hope no-one minds my resurrecting this ageing thread with a bit of an info dump.
My first post mentioned that I was having reliability problems with the USB infrared receiver I was using for my WMC HTPC setup. I've now been through five of them (including the Rosewill unit I said I'd buy), testing each one extensively for a period of a few weeks, and I'd like to share my results in case anyone else finds them useful.
The only receiver I've found that works 100% reliably, 100% of the time is the HP OVU400103/00 (genuine ones have USB VID 0471, PID 0815; apparently there are fakes floating around). These aren't available any more, but for the time being can still be found second hand on eBay.
All others I've tested have had reliability problems. These are: HP OVU400102/71 (VID 1934, PID 5168), Lenovo OVU430006/01 (VID 0471, PID 2093), Rosewill RHRC-11001 (VID 147A, PID E042), and another that I disposed of. In all cases, they occasionally stop responding when the computer resumes from S3 or S4 (sleep / suspend / hibernate; Windows device manager reports a data error) and require the computer to be restarted or the receiver's USB cable to be removed and plugged back in. They also differ in terms of how well they handle repeat input (ie holding a button down on the remote) and range (how far away you can reliably use the remote). The Rosewill model even managed to trigger a couple of phantom wake-ups. I've found the HP OVU400103/00 to be superior in all respects.
Tested using both USB 2 and 3 ports on H87 (Asus H87M-E) and H77 (Intel DH77EB) chipsets.
