Windows 8.1 Pro will not install

#1

Post by smithras71 » Sun Sep 29, 2013 1:57 am

I just did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro and cannot get ceton_my_media_center_setup_w8_13_06_28_0751 to install. I run the installer but get a warning that it must be installed on Windows 8 Professional.

Yes I am sure it is Professional:
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro
OS Version: 6.3.9600 N/A Build 9600

Any tips that don't require installing Windows 8 first?

Thanks
RS

Is Media Center installed? I'm not sure what error shows up if it isn't.....

Don't have the card, but does it require .net 3.5?

Did you or anyone find a solution.

I had the same problem.

System is Win Pro x64 with InfitiTV4. Was running great.

I upgraded to Win 8.1 and had a OTA warning show up, and then tried to install the beta driver, Ceton InfiniTV Installer (13.06.03.1088). But it said I need to be running Windows 8 Pro. Did not make sense. I was unable to uninstall the older driver and install the beta driver.

I am now putting Windows 8 Pro back on (via my Ghost Image) and then try to install the beta driver first, and then do the uprade to Windows 8.1 (if you want to call it an upgrade).

Any help or suggestions would be great, or if anyone had a successful upgrade to Windows 8.1 x64, please post how you did it.

Thanks.
