$35 HDMI dongle that will stream media from Youtube, Google Play services, Google Chrome content, Netflix, and Pandora (more apps to come as developers utilize the API) to your TV. You can use your phone (Android or iOS) or desktop Chrome to control the experience.

Thought it was pretty neat, especially for this price. Also includes 3 months of Netflix with purchase for new and existing users :)

This could be really cool, excited about it's potential. I had to order one at that price! I think I got in before they sold out.

Bet it won't do Amazon Prime streaming! :-)

That's entirely up to Amazon. It's on them to make an Android app + include the needed API into the app. You could do it via Chrome though on a desktop. You can push any media from a Chrome desktop browser to this from what I understand.

Any specs flying around?
I'd like to see what it can spit out.

Hardware specs, no. The Verge reports there is 1080p streaming though : http://www.theverge.com/2013/7/24/45533 ... g-tv-stick

It needs to be powered I see...
I was wondering how it got the juice as HDMI doesn't really have the vavoom.

If the cash price is only $35 for this thing, how are we really paying for it?

Are our eyeballs really worth that much?

Most likely just HDMI. Here's a quote from an owner on Amazon:
Jasper Lynn wrote:The power adapter is an optional requirement. In fact, most modern TV's with HDMI 1.4 or higher spec are supported. The Chromecast can draw power from the HDMI port it's plugged into. If your TV doesn't support that, there's also a USB cable and power adapter included in the box. I have a 2012 LG LED and a 2013 Lenovo 27" Monitor with HDMI input and the ports power it with no cable.
This mirrors my experience with HDMI switches that require no external power supply.

Since this thing is only $11 after the Netflix promo, I ordered one immediately. It will be great for travel.

Good to know. Makes it a neater setup for people with HDMI 1.4+

^ interesting. I believe 1.4 spec is to throw out 5v 55mA on the power rail. I didn't think that to be enough for WiFi @2.4Ghz that the dongle has.

We'll just have to wait for some actual user reviews. All my sets are HDMI 1.3 at the highest I believe - so USB for me anyway.
