WMC pinned behind taskbar
Could use a little help. I'm having an issue sometimes when I launch WMC it is pinned behind the task bar. Sometimes this also causes my remote not to work. Thank you for any input you may provide me with this annoyance.

That happens to me with Win7 sometimes when using HuluLauncher. When I would exit Hulu, Media Center would re-launch but not have focus (and taskbar shown). If I just hit the green button again it would regain focus. Annoying but it worked. Does that work for you?

That does work most of the time, but sometimes the remote doesn't work until I use a left mouse click. For some reason the taskbar is getting priority.

Have you changed the display option (Control Panel -> Display) so that everything is larger (125% or 150%)? I tried this a while back, and it resulted in the same problem you are experiencing. When I set it back to 100%, the problem went away.

I checked and the display is at the default 100%.

I solved a problem like this by playing with the taskbar settings. If you have the taskbar locked or on auto-hide when a program needs your attention (when it's blinking in the taskbar) it will leave the taskbar in front of all of the windows.
Try turning off auto-hide if it's on, or disabling the 'lock the taskbar' setting.

Thanks LuckyDay. This did the trick I think. I will have to play around some more and give it a little time, but I do believe its all good now. It's funny because I remember looking at the task bar setting and thought I had turned off lock to see if that would fix it, but after you're recommendation I checked again and it was on. Thanks again!LuckyDay wrote:I solved a problem like this by playing with the taskbar settings.
