Freezing on boot at "Checking NVRAM..."

I know this is a bit off topic for TGB, but I have always gotten great advice here. Occasionally when I reboot my HTPC, the system will freeze while posting at "Checking NVRAM...". It seemed to have begun after I switched from an NVIDIA graphics card to ATI (could have been coincidence though). I have tried to clear the CMOS, which didn't help. Any other advice out there amongst ye TGB gurus???

A List of things to check can be found here: http://www.ehow.com/info_12224437_compu ... nvram.html

It could be a few different things causing the error. You'll have to do some testing to determine where the problem is..

Update your BIOS, see if the same thing happens with the HD unplugged.
