Friendly extender names

With multiple Echos, a friendly name for each device instead of the default MCX-xxx user name would be very helpful. Any idea if this might be implemented sometime soon? It an important feature for me.

It is being implemented on both the Echo side (rename option there) and then in Companion App it will pick up the change. Will be an Xmas update.

Just another update. We are releasing a build today that is part of a large product update but does not include this yet. It is in an internal beta and we hope to have one ready next week (hopefully the 25th) w/ it as a public beta.

I have a couple media center extenders and I was wondering if it is possible to rename the Extenders so that it's clearer which one is which when using the "tune on" feature of the Ceton Media Center Companion app?

Cannot wait for this feature. Once I can get the remote to read "Living Room" rather than MCX03-xxx the WAF factor will be high enough to finally dump my FiOS DVR!

Well that gives us more motivation. We like hearing about high WAF and ditching STBs. :)

That depends on the wife in question. I would cut off my right arm to get rid of my first wife.

Is this item still on the radar, or did you guys run into technical problems while implementing?

Did I miss something regarding friendly extender names? The pictures on cetoncorp.com and cetoncorp.com/products/companion/ clearly show the extender names of "Family Room" and "Bedroom."

Is this implemented? I just bought an Echo, and wifey is getting frustrated with 4 extenders to remember by number.

I'm curious about this too. With 4 echos this is a real pita.

:) glad it is out and working. Kindle usually takes a few more days but they have been pretty fast recently.

We love reviews.... Maybe you will be our lucky #30 on amazon :)
