Bing Search Results - Redirect Issue?
Frequently, when coming to this site from a Bing search (green button tv), the first result gets redirected to [removed by STC for safety] or some other type of malware site. Is this a known issue or an issue with an ad? The Bing search result points to http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/blog so it looks legit.

It sounds to me like you've got some less-than-desirable software on your computer.

I also tried this from my iPhone and the same issue exists... I use Bing out of convenience with the default search engine in IE9.
Is this related? http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... =30&t=2403
Either way, Bing is directing to www.thegreenbutton.tv/blog and it is getting redirected.

You can change your default search provider in IE. Just open the Internet Options dialog (on the Tools menu in IE). Click the "Settings" button in the "Search" area of the "General" tab. Then, click the "find more search providers" link at the bottom of the page. You can then click the "Search" link on the left side of the page, and scroll down to Google. Click the link for Google, and then make sure to check the box that says "make this my default search provider."
Microsoft didn't make it easy to use Google search by default... they make money from people who use Bing. But IMHO, Bing sucks.

I just did a bing search and the tgb.tv results that link to here are working as expected for me. (Nice to see that a "thegreenbutton" search puts us ahead of WEC )
If anybody else sees the re-direct issue, please post here.

Hi Rob,
This site points to issues with server-side PHP code... http://productforums.google.com/forum/# ... %5B1-25%5D
Hopefully this helps if others are seeing this. Pretty sure it is not local to me since this is happening also on my iOS device and on a external 3G network (thus ruling out network intrusions).

I am searching for the terms ' green button tv'. It is the first link in the results. I don't want to cause an unncessary fire drill, but it seems weird with the results I am getting, both personal machine, work machines, and iOS device.STC wrote:Concur, if I search for "the green button' I get a hit to here third down on the list without any malware.

I tried in IE 8 and got "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". I then tried in FF 12 and was able to repro the problem. In both cases, I simply clicked on the Bing result link (the one that goes to the blog). Manually typing in the displayed URL (www.thegreenbutton.tv/blog) took to to the site as desired.
I'm thinking it's a problem with Bing.

Yeah it looks like a Bing cache problem to me.
In Bing, type in any other like phrase for tgb.tv and you will be linked cleanly to us. There is just a problem with that particular search string on Bing only.

I had this issue for a while using Bing, but the problem seemed to go away a few weeks ago. Hopefully that means they are pushing through some cleanup on the back end.

It would be interesting if you guys find any malicious code in your PHP. But, I agree with trooper11... Bing needs an enema.trooper11 wrote:I had this issue for a while using Bing, but the problem seemed to go away a few weeks ago. Going off on tangent, I recommend the paid version of Malwarebytes in instances such as these malware redirects. It prevents you from ever accidentally going to places like this with a well maintained blacklist. It sits in your taskbar, uses only a bit of resources and the paid version is about 24 bucks life membership.

No, the OPS Bing link above it still redirects to a taken down malware URL. Any other method of finding TGB.tv through Bing does not result in the bad link.

I used the OP's Bing link. The first and second results worked fine for me.
