Importing Scheduled Recordings into a New Install

#1

Post by 4moreinstallstoxmas » Sat Nov 18, 2023 2:23 pm

With a windows 7 epg123 equipped machine can this be done? I can backup using epg123 but can I import the file into a clean install? Its likely the channels, many having migrated transponder would not match what is in the backup, I do not know but I am aware that I can edit the record requests if they are listed in scheduled record.
I have many scheduled record from three years back, some of those series are just three parters and I pay no attention to TV future programming so windows media center does a great job of sometimes surprising me pleasantly with a recording of the first part of a new series I did not even expect.
Its one of the truly impressive features of WMC that if you leave a series record in place that two years might elapse before another series comes to air and it is recorded even though you did not have your face in the TV guide to note that it was coming back.
So if I did a fresh install and could not import a backup I would not have the luxury of series records for anything not currently in the EPG!
I would likely answer my own question sooner or later, probably much later but I am trying to make life easier.

If you just want to restore your recording requests, use the Transfer Tool.
