Auto Match stations to channels

#1

Post by rimmel » Thu Sep 07, 2023 2:02 am

Just updated from epg123 1.7.3.0 to 1.8.2.2 Full Mode. Noticed that the auto match channels to stations was unchecked after update. I have always enabled this feature. Checking this box in the Configurator and doing a Save or a Save & Execute and then returning to the Configurator later. The Auto Match feature is unchecked again. Checking this box in the Client also does not permanently keep the box checked. Enter the Client again and the box is unchecked. Has this feature changed? Is there some other requirement that must be met to keep this feature on all the time?

The selection to 'Automatch' is no longer stored in the .cfg file. IF you have a scheduled task setup with automatch enabled, then that will always be selected. Seems to me you don't have a scheduled task and/or created your own that is not titled 'epg123_update'.

If I do a fresh OS install followed by the installation of epg123, I usually run Save & Execute first to AutoMatch the channels and make sure epg123 is working properly. I have a lot of channels on my cable subscription. If that will no longer work can I use the "Match By:" button in epg123client to do the same thing? Or do I need to create a started task with the AutoMatch box checked and let epg123 run for the first time on a new system via the task to perform AutoMatch.

Either method will work. Before you use [Save & Execute], you can also go to the scheduled task tab and check the checkboxes. The import and match checkboxes may not be persistent between GUI loads, but it will still be used whenever you execute.

Thanks for the feedback Gary! I will use the method you have described in the previous post.
