Install fails on epg123Client update
Hi,
Had this happen a few times. Doing an update and it fails on not being allowed access to epg123Client. Error 5? Failed on a few attempts. I have to go into Task Manager and kill the epg123Server process, install OK after that. V1.8.1.3 and a few before this one.
Just a FYI.

Next installer will kill any epg123Client.exe processes still running. This is due to there being a process still running waiting on indexing to complete from the last import.

I just released a new version, but it appears my change for the installer disappeared... so still has this issue.

I just tried the new version. It killed the epg123server.exe that was running and was a perfect install. I guess if I was a great SW QA guy I would go back a version or two and see if they also killed epg123server.exe. I'll be happy to try if you need me to.
One more thing: epg123Setup_v1.8.1.4.zip (89) - epg123_v1.8.1.4.zip (5) .... what do the numbers in parenthesizes mean?

I believe the problem was with killing the client, not the server, I believe the installer has always killed the server before it installed the new version.
I'm pretty sure the numbers next to the downloads is how many times it's been downloaded.

@Space has it right on both counts. The setup file has always stopped the service as part of the installation. The Error 5 you saw for the epg123Client.exe is due to the client still running in the background waiting for indexing to complete and report any storage or tuner conflict problems. Evidently, though I made the changes to the setup configuration file to kill the client when performing the install to avoid that error, I forgot to save it before I ran it. So Error 5 can still show up with the latest release.

garyan2, Space, thanks for the answers. So I'm good for now. If I've got a problem I'll just kill the service. But probably I'm good until there is newer update.
Thanks!
Thanks!
