Just want to say hello and introduce myself. New user. Any help with creating a bootable usb windows 7 32bit pro sp1 for a Lenovo x130e ThinkPad with a new hard drive? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, are you looking for a live ISO or an installer?

Do you need this for a UEFI or Legacy BIOS?

I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow for you.
I installed Win7 Pro x64 on legacy BIOS recently so I may be able to help.

Rufus is the name of the program to easily create a bootable usb drive.

Easy + non UEFI = does not exist

It took me forever to find a Rufus old enough for my legacy BIOS but new enough to work properly.
I'm at work though and can't dig up the info until later this afternoon.

Okay, this should get you a working Windows 7 ISO burned onto a USB stick specifically for legacy BIOS.

Download the Windows 7 x86 ISO here:
https://files.rg-adguard.net/files/cea4 ... 3e10bd9f66

Download the MDL Win 7 Tool for SiMPLiX UpdatePack AiO ISO.
I recommend creating an account. The website is an invaluable resource for Windows 7.
And tell the author "thank you".
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/thread ... ion.79421/

Direct download (Password = SiMPLiX) if you don't want to create an account:
https://mega.nz/file/V4V1XSQY#smhAhQO-n ... s_olurI45U

Download the latest Simplix update pack here:
https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/detail ... epack.html

Extract the SiMPLiX file and read the directions to create an up-to-date Windows 7 ISO with all the latest patches, USB 3.0 driver, etc. installed.

After you've created the ISO, download Rufus version 1.4.7 (because I know it works with legacy BIOS) here:
https://rufus.ie/downloads/

Run Rufus to create the bootable installer USB key!
