EPG Backup and Satellite Info

#1

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Gary for the Backup and Restore facility now built into EPG123. I was one of those who's WMC set up was killed by the July Windows update. Once a workaround was in place, I was able to quickly get back up and running using my EPG123 backup :-)

Whilst MCE was in TV setup mode, I thought I'd take a look at the latest Satelite info, again a recently addition to EPG123 (and has long been a major bugbear for DVB-S/S2 Users). Ran through the Update Satellites & Trtansponders, Create Custom MXF file and Import process in EPG, then ran TV Setup from MCE. I couldn't find a way to get past the Downloading TV Setup Data page - it just hangs there, and if I cancel, it aborts the setup completely. Is there a trick for this?

If you decline the program guide terms of service, that shouldn't happen. Otherwise, before you perform TV Setup, you need to tell WMC that you do not have an "always on" internet. https://garyan2.github.io/step2.html

Thanks Gary, that got me past the Downloading TV Setup Data page, athough MCE was quite insistant that it needed to test my nonexistant 'dial up' login before proceeding! Was able to continue using 'stored setup data' and entered the manual setup of tuners page, and on hitting Next, MCE shuts down with the error message that it has experienced a problem and needs to be restarted. Tried it a few times with the same result. Also noticed that MCE becomes glitchy after that but is fine again after running the massively useful EPG123 Restore.
