Download fail of v1.6.0.5
i have not been able to download and install any updates since v1.5.1. any suggestions? I click on the link but the installer does not show up in my downloads folder and nothing happens. thank you

Your browser is probably blocking it... Chrome is pretty good for that and you will need to tell it to download anyway. If not your browser then your AV software like Norton will put it in jail until you say it is okay.

Unfortunately, SmartScreen, built into new Edge, is also blocking.

I believe you can turn smartscreen off

You can also turn off download protection in Chrome. I wouldn’t recommend either though. Safer to evaluate/override on a case by case basis.

When this happens to me in Chrome, the status bar/download bar (at the bottom) says it's blocked. Navigating that message will get you to the option to Keep, which will complete the download. Happened to me for the last two versions. If you don't see that bottom bar when downloading files, you'll have to enable it in the browser.
