I've seen elsewhere that Media Centre can be set up with 1 dual DVB-T tuner and 1 x dual DVB-T2 tuner, but I was wondering if it then sensibly schedules a mixture of HD and SD programmes using the correct tuners? I currently have 2 x dual DVB-T tuners and would like to upgrade to receive HD without necessarily needing to replace both tuners.
My worry is that it might try to schedule an HD program on a T1 tuner, or it might occupy the T2 tuners with SD programmes leaving the remaining T1 tuners unable to pick up a wanted HD program.
Has anyone had any experience with this sort of setup?
Many thanks.
Can 7MC schedule well with 1 x DVB-T and 1 x DVB-T2 tuner?

You can set the tuner priority so that SD channels go to the DVB-T tuners first. That way the T2 tuners would only be used if both T tuners were already recording. If you think it's going to be a big problem you could even reserve one or both of the T2 tuners for HD by preventing SD channels from using them. That's probably overkill though.

Thanks Mark, That's what I was hoping to hear. Now I can order my T2 tuner.

How do I set tuner priority? Can I do this in 7MC? Or is it a Registry edit?
I remember when I first set up my Media Centre (many years ago) it was under Windows XP and there was a little utility that edited the registry for tuner priority etc. I probably still have it somewhere, but presumably the registry format is different under Windows 7?
Haven't received my new Tuner card yet - just preparing. Thanks for any help.

You set tuner priorities in the Edit Channels/<Specific channel>/Edit Sources screen.
