WMC Guide locking up (UK OTA)

#1

Post by DavidUK » Thu Jan 09, 2020 5:21 pm

W7MC/EPG123/Schedules Direct/UK OTA
For about a week, the WMC guide has been locking up for a period ranging from a few seconds to 1/2 minute.
Located the problem as the BBC Red Button channels 250 and 601. Disabling these two channels and the guide no longer locks up.

Could you give me a postal code and lineup? I'll see if I can find anything though I have no idea what that could be.

I have 601 (but not 250) in my line up and haven’t experienced any lock ups (Windows 8).

I just downloaded that BBC Red Button into my guide and don't see anything funny going on. It is actually a pretty small channel as far as data is concerned. Guide data going out to 26/1 only has 17 series for a total of 33 different programs. Can you add it back in and repeat the problem?

Gary,
I had to create a new user, as no activation email received after changing my account email address. As a result could not log into my account. I changed my account email as it was using the .eu h/l domain, and there is a small risk this might be withdrawn in a few days as the UK leaves the EU.

Just to confirm, since removing the two BBC Red button channels, the guide has continued to work without problem.
So I restored these two channels, and the guide continue to work without problem.
I also selected one of these channels, and displayed the Red Button page. So so far everything working fine.
The only thing slightly unusual about these BBC Red button channels is they are currently repeating the same program name many times.

David.

I think that is standard behaviour due to the nature of the channel. If not covering a special live event they just loop the same program.
