#1

Scheduled recordings disappear after 5-10 seconds after looking at the list. No programs on list record. If I click on guide and select record show WMC crashes. Have installed EPG123 several times only receive one warning as show in trace log file below

The trace.log excerpt is from a client setup. Which list are you talking about that recordings disappear from? The Transfer Tool or in Recorded TV->Scheduled?

In the client, what does the status bar say at the bottom? XXXX channels YY lineups ZZ services....

Recorded TV>Scheduled is where scheduled recordings momentarily appear when clicked on and then disappear
EPG123 Clent Guide Tool shows
9999 Merged Channel(s) with 9999 shown 1 Lineup(s) 405 Service(s) with 405 shown

I only have one computer with a Ceton infini4 pc card.

Could you click the [Backup] button in the client and send me the resulting file to support@garyan2.net? I don't believe I've ever heard of behavior like this.

I have actually been able to duplicate what you are seeing. It is definitely related to something in your recording requests, I just have to find out what and why. I did notice that you somehow have some duplicated series requests, but I don't think that is related.

For now, see if you can open the Transfer Tool, select all the requests on the right, right-click and select cancel. It looks like you probably have a PvrRecoveryTask stuck running (I did), so just reboot the machine. See if you can schedule a recording after that.

Using the Transfer Tool, deleted all of the requests on the right as suggested. Rebooted the computer, and then WMC. Went to the guide and tried to set up a recording. WMC shut down with this message box
Windows Media Center has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I went to Recorded TV>Scheduled and momentarily saw the program I had asked to record and one other which I had tried to setup earlier today. Then no scheduled recordings were visible.

Never had this recording issue with the old guide, before MS stopped updating and I switched to EPG123. Doesn't seem logical to me right now.

Me neither, and it was real interesting that when I restored your backup that I could duplicate it. When I removed all the recording requests, I was able to navigate, create new requests, and view the scheduled recordings without a problem. I haven't been able to find what it is WMC doesn't like though.

I suggest you again use the Transfer Tool, remove all requests, and then perform a [Client Setup] again to clean out whatever this is. Without importing any recordings this time, you should hopefully not have a problem adding/viewing requests. Unfortunately, you will have to recreate all the requests again.

Seems to be working now. I'll see how it goes when some programs record. One other issue which showed up today is if I go to the guide listing and then go left to search for a program by title, I receive a warning message that "Search results may be incomplete because the Guide listings are still being indexed". This has been the message for the last 5 hours as I started typing into the search box.
Thanks for your help on the guide and recording issue. It is really appreciated. I will be sure to recommend the use of EPG123 to others.
