So, the path forward is to install EPG from here: http://epg123.garyan2.net/download/
Is this actually free? donations?
If I do a clean start will I loose my programmed recordings?
http://epg123.garyan2.net/install/
When I install do I need to do server and client?

EPG123 is free, donations are certainly welcome. The Schedules Direct membership for the guide data is 7-day free trial, $6 for 2 months, $25 for 1 year.
The clean start routine will perform a backup of your scheduled recordings and for the most part those will be restored at the end of the process. You can watch the video and see when that occurs using the Transfer Tool.
For a stand-alone, you need to do the full install, both server and client.

The Epg123 program itself is free, unless you want to make a donation.
The guide data itself costs $25 a year for schedules direct. They do have a 7 day free trial.
I'll let someone else comment on the recordings, as I rescheduled mine

thanks!
Got it to work, even doing some steps out of order...
Is there an easy way to filter out duplicate channels? i.e. delete SD channels for which a HD channel exist?
