Hi all,
just installed Windows Mediacenter on Windows 1909 using EPG123. Everything seems to works fine except that I cannot record any show. Neither recording of a running show works nor trying to schedule a recording works. Mediacenter completely creahes when trying to do so.
Any ideas?
Kind regards
Andreas

Probably best to ask in the Windows 10 Media Center area. @technodevotee may have a thought, but it sounds like your WMC install can't create the scheduled task to start a recording. Is there anything in the Event Log (Event Viewer)?

Hi Gary,
you were right. The whole Mediacenter task library was missing in the task scheduler. For whatever reason it was missing in the WMC setup directory. After creating the task library everything works fine now
Thanks for you help!
Kind regards

Hi,
First I want say "thank you" to garyan2 for EPG123. The program is a lifesaver (or at least a TV viewing life saver!)
After uninstalling a recent MS Security Update that wiped out my guide and several mis-steps of my own restoring, I was able to get the guide back and WMC working again. However, I have this similar problem now where WMC crashes trying to sched a recording either from the guide or through the schedule screen. Clicking save, or ok, WMC either restarts, or closes with a white warning dialog (WMC is restarting/closing).
When I restart WMC, the recording is scheduled and is recording and correctly deleting as scheduled after watching. So it's almost working again. Any suggestions what steps to take or where to look to resolve the annoying WMC crash?
I also lost all my scheduled recordings and was wondering, before I mess anything up, can I restore from EPG Database utilities a backup of scheduled recordings?
I'm running 8.1 Pro with WMC, EPG123 V1.7.1.12. Thanks in advance.

You can use the Transfer Tool to open a backup and import your scheduled recording requests from that.
