Hello all,
I've just joined, and wanted to ask a question that I've been wondering about, since Win 7 support is going away in a month, and since we won't get MS Rovi data.
I plan to use EPG123 in my current WMC PC#1, and probably will disconnect it from the internet, but continue to use it as my OTA DVR, etc.
Could I download EPG123's Guide Data onto PC#2, and then transfer it (via USB) to the WMC PC#1?
And, if so, what are the steps/directions on how to do that?
I'm a huge fan of WMC, and shame on MS for killing such a great addition to their OS.
No other program comes close to WMC, in my opinion.
Thanks for your help, everyone!
EPG123 Guide Data download on PC2, transfer to PC1?

There are options, depends on how far you disconnect.
If you block internet access, but still on the network, you can set PC#1 as a client and PC#2 as the server. PC#2 will create the MXF file and share it on the network for PC#1 to import.
If you completely disconnect the network, then yes, you can sneaker net it using a USB drive and simply use the client to manually import it into WMC.

Thanks garyan2.
In my situation, PC#2 (with internet access) will have Win 10, and PC#1 will remain with Win 7.
Since both have a different OS, could the server to client option still work?
Also, if I choose method 2, can EPG123 be installed to get the guide data MXF file on PC#2 with Win 10, even though it doesn't have WMC?
If so, that's great, and I'll have to research how to import that file from USB to WMC on PC#1.
Thanks again!

Yes and Yes. The "server" side of EPG123 just creates the MXF file which is imported into WMC. It doesn't need WMC to exist on the computer and can be run on XP (with a patch), 7, 8, 8.1, WHS 2001, Server 2008+, 10. I might be missing some servers it can work on, just know I can't get it to work on 2003 servers just yet.
Of course, the client part need WMC installed to work, so you are limited to 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 if you take the risk.
