Server with different windows versions

1) If I have a machine with Windows 8, can a windows 7 machine use the MXF file? or W7 server to W8 machine.

2) Which is preferred method of use, a machine server or individual machines doing updates

3) I use My Channels Logo, can I install that and use it just like on WMC? I am confused on this issue

NOTE: with Microsoft dropping guide support I suspect you will become very busy

1) The MXF file can be used on all Win7, Win8, and Win8.1 versions of WMC so not an issue there.

2) Totally up to you, but if you have a machine that is always on, that sounds like a good server for a server/client(s) setup. If multiple machines perform individual updates, you will need to stagger the times to make sure that only 1 is updating at any time.

3) You can still use MCL XL, but it really isn't necessary. If you have logos you want to keep, they can be placed in the \logos folder with the callsign as the file name. Also, the TweakWMC in EPG123 is far more flexible than MCL XL except for changing the order of the channel number, callsign, and logos.

do the client updates have to be staggered or can they be all at same time

if I use My Channel Logos, do the update files over write the logos? How does that work

Clients can update at any time. The MXF file is just a resource on your network and can be accessed by multiple stations at the same time.

The logos from MCL XL will be overwritten on every update if you select the 'Include station logos from Schedules Direct' option. If that option is not selected, then MCL XL will function just as before.
