Getting guide data for channel found in scan

#1

Post by JTScribe » Sat Feb 11, 2017 9:41 pm

So the OTA guide for my ZIP code doesn't have a particular channel that I can get. All the other channels I can get show up fine but I'm just missing the one. Is there a way to manually add it?

Does WMC's setup find multiple OTA lineups in your area?

Choose another one, if so. See if the channel is in that lineup.

I had that problem here. In fact, the lineup I'm using should, in the real world, have no meaning--except that it's the one that includes a couple channels that the other one, which common sense says everyone here would use, does not have.

There is. In the guide provided with epg123, there is a paragraph on page 10 called Additional OTA Configuration that walks through adding a missing channel.

Also, recommend opening a ticket with Schedules Direct to add the channel. Typically takes less than a week.

adam - The lineup is determined by SchedulesDirect since I'm not using the built-in guide. There's only one "OTA" SD lineup for my ZIP (47232) and it doesn't have WXIN.

Yes, I was able to add the channel using that step but it still doesn't get any guide date. Thanks for the tip, I'll get with SD.

Oops, sorry ... misread your question. You can have up to 4 lineups so you can add another which does have it in their lineup. When you go to add another lineup, use an indianapolis zip code and only check the box to add the missing channel.

Hope that wasn't too confusing. Bottom line:

Add lineup in epg123.exe, use Indianapolis zip code, select Antenna lineup, select the new lineup tab and check the box for WXIN. Run an update and you're done.

Okay, so anything checked in the 2,3,4 columns will show up with my primary lineup? I get the Louisville Fox channel, too, so I'd honestly forgot about the problem since I hadn't missed any shows. ;)

Correct. EPG123 doesn't so much subscribe to lineups as it identifies the stations to download. Obviously it would be nice that the stations had the same channel numbers (typically not a problem for OTA).
