WTV files playing in slow motion
So I have been using WMC for recording tv for over a year and has worked flawlessly until today. I went on vacation the last 8 days and came home to catch up on some recorded tv and all my wtv files play at about 90% speed. all my wmv and mkv files play just fine within WMC but wtv files are in slow motion if I play them on WMC or WMP. Any ideas what would have caused this or more importantly how do I fix this?

yes first thing I didSTC wrote:Did you try rebooting?
also as an update it is only the wtv files that play slowly in wmc or wmp . wmc plays wmv and mkv files without issue. and those wtv files play normally in vlc.

Were there any Windows updates installed while you were away?

no updates other than MSE definition updates. I also did a system restore back to end of September at a date I know it was working. no change. Also it appears its only the audio playing in slow motion for WTV files and also live tv through WMC.Scallica wrote:Were there any Windows updates installed while you were away?

When you say audio is slow, is it keeping up with the video or out of sync?
Perhaps it sounds lower frequency? If so check the audio path / Windows sound enhancements / AVR settings / etc etc.

it keeps up in sync with video but distorted and at a low frequency. everyone sounds like a demon has possessed their bodies. but only for live tv and wtv files, all other file and audio sources sound normal. and wtv files play normally in vlc, only in wmp and wmc do the issues occur.

OK SOLVED IT, feel a little dumb. While I was going over the pc with a fine tooth comb, it turned out to be a receiver issue. power cycled the receiver and that fixed the issue. Thanks for the help
