Is my Echo DOA?
Just got an Echo off of Amazon from Ceton for $99. It appears to be DOA. I plug in the HDMI, CAT5, and then the power. The Ceton logo lights up on the front, and.... nothing. The display shows "no signal". Am I missing something? Do I need to press something, or is this DOA?

Did you peel off the film covering on the back (and the front)? It's easily missed. If you didn't, some of the film might be on one or more of the connectors. Don't ask me how I know.

Well, I did leave the film on, but peeling it off didn't do much. Still won't work.

Return it to Amazon or exchange it, it's free if it's DOA

Did you make sure your TV was set to the correct input?

There's a couple things you can try in here.....http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/vie ... 433#p35433 You would have to open a support ticket with Ceton to get your MAC registered with the update server. Might be simpler to just return it.

I just sent it back. Just a bad omen with all the issues reported and the fact that my first one is DOA. For now I'm using Mediabrowser on a Roku, but I'll go xbox360 if I have to. I'm just trying to avoid supporting Microsoft anymore.
