Guide Channel Names

#1

Post by johnvic » Sat Jan 24, 2015 6:50 pm

My TV source is an antenna connected to a Silicondust HD Homerun. All my channels in the WMC Guide are listed by call sign letters. I would prefer station names like NBC or PBS, etc.

How would I do this? Do I use My Channel Logos?

Thanks!

Go to "Tasks" / "Settings" / "TV" / "Guide" / "Edit Channel"

Click on the channel name you want to edit and there is an option to rename the channel.

I've been avoiding the issue by using MCL to suppress both the channel name and number, so I have just the logo centered in the smallest possible width column, which also helps a lot when showing 3 hours of listings. I used GuideTool to renumber the channels to group them in a way that makes sense and reduce the 4-digit numbers to 2 or 3 digit ones. If you do use MCL, for best results, use the option to get icons without the space-wasting "HD" indicator.
