Avermedia A237 with digital-to-analog converter

On upgrade from Vista to Win 7, Win 7 will not recognize my (analog) AverMedia A237 TV tuner in my HP IQ506 AIO Device Manager.

I am trying to use a digital-to-analog converter, and cannot it find the tuner.

I went back to Vista, and it was working fine without the converter, but only six channels.

But that is another problem, the converter has an IR sensor, but in order for Vista Media Center to recognize the sensor, it has to be plugged into my computer, not the box.
The converter needs it plugged into itself -- Naturally, then, the box cannot function.

If it is of any help, the box is made by Pace.
At one point in the setup, I was asked for the manufacturer, and didn't know then -- now that I know, I can't find where MC asked that.

I would be satisfied to operate under Vista, if I could get Media Center set up.
