Unable to Uninstall Remote Potato

I installed remote potato a while back and have just never really used it. I recently have been cleaning stuff up on my machine and decided to remove it but every time I try to uninstall remote potato I get a message that says Error 1001 and tells me an exception occurred and that some components may not have been uninstalled. When I reboot the application is right back there. Any ideas on how to get rid of remote potato?

I've never tried to uninstall it myself. But make sure you stop/disable the service first and shut down the RP confing program and try again. Failing that, Revo uninstaller works pretty well on other things I've used it on.

Go into taskmanager and stop/kill any processes that refer to rp and try again

Also, are you using the "original" one or the one now being updated for "live" TV...?

But the above are good thibngs to look into. Stop totally the service - just killing the process may not be enough. Then remove all the files/directories - including the ones in the AppData area. Finally, you can rip things out of the registry...Assuming you are comfortable doing that...if you really want a complete purge.

I tried stopping everything I could. There are a couple like RPC and RPC Endpoint Mapper that Windows won't let me close and one (RP Key Mapper) that comes up as needing to be closed when I run the uninstall wizard that I can't find anywhere.

RPC has nothing to do with Remote Potato, so don't worry about those. I've never seen RP Key Mapper. Try booting into safe mode and uninstalling from there.
