Strange issue with some recordings

I am having an odd issue. Some of my recordings fail to play back. They show up in recorded tv he but when I go to play them there is no audio or video just a the blue background. It started a few days ago and I don't see any errors in the logs. The recordings indicate that they are the right length. Any pointers on how to troubleshoot this?
