volume control
so i setup my 360 as an extender and it seems to work pretty well. not as fast as the pc it is replacing but it will do since i won't have to screw with networking my ceton tuner anymore. one thing i found that was odd is that an mce remote doesn't control the volume of the xbox when it is in extender mode. i read about it on the microsoft site but the really strange thing is that you can mute the xbox with the mce remote. seems odd that they would make it so that you can mute the console but not adjust the volume up or down. weird

yes, that remote just came out this month. i have the older version (the white one w/ TGB). does anyone know if this new black version is backlit also?
also, the media remote's only do the xbox and a TV; if you have an AVR to control, you'll need to get a harmony remote or something comparible.

i'm using a harmony 300 so controlling the tv volume is no problem. what i meant is that i find it odd that the xbox can be muted with a media center remote but no volume adjustment is allowed. if you can't change the volume then why allow the mute function?
