Hello,
I have almost 1TB of media library that includes music , photos, videos etc.. I use WMC on Windows 7 ( my central media server ) on a very hefty desktop. I use 2 media extenders ( Linksys DMA 2100 and 2200 ) to stream from my media server.
Whenever I start WMC on extenders , displaying library takes time.. When I look at my media server it's scanning entire library with many parallel threads.. I do not update my library that often.. may once or twic a month.. here are my questions
1) Is there way to stop library update whenever WMC starts? and to make it run only at schdeule time or only when I add/modify anything in the library?
2) Is there way to control number of threads it's using to populate librarary..
Thanks in advance for you quick responses..

Thanks for your reply
It does not look like the issue I'm having.. I see those folders just fine.. Every time WMC invokes it kick off the library scan which drive my server crazy.. so like to find out if there is way to avoid it.
Thanks.

Have you left the extender for a while (an hour maybe) to finish indexing the libraries completely? I have an echo and a 360 and I don't see this (nearly 4tb of media).
It might be worth deleting the wmp databases for the extender accounts and then let them build up from scratch in case they're corrupted maybe?
Also worth double checking that no old / non-existent locations are included in the libraries I guess.
