Multiple Xbox and Netflix?

#1

I know that you need a Live Gold account to use Netflix on the XBox. My understanding is that you can use the same Gold account on multiple XBox's but not at the same time. So, if I want to watch Netflix on two Xbox's at the same time I would need 2 Gold accounts. Is this (unfortunately) correct? Thanks.

I've seen mention of a "family" account. I assume that means you can use more than one XBox at the same time.

I think the family membership was recently discontinued?

Family accounts no longer exist. MS did away with them this past month in prep for the Xbox ONE. Apparently MS Assumes that everyone that has an Xbox360 today under the family pack will either upgrade ALL their Xboxes to ONEs or that they can afford to pay for individual gold accounts for each legacy 360. Big mistake if you ask me as we are not a family of gaming and once our family pack plan (now converted to individual gold accounts for one-year to "transition you") runs out, we will be scrapping the xbox live for all of us and instead buying a bunch of Rokus. If MS changes their mind or if another extender platform is revealed that works with MCE (or any other cablecard solution that supports DRM for that matter), we just may switch altogether.
The industry is changing so quickly right now that it's hard to say where we'll be with the server/extender model.
Matt O. ...tivo what? ...dish dvr--uh... huh? ...cable dvr fees--you're kidding, right?

That's what I was afraid of. I would have a hard enough time paying for one Gold account just to watch Netflix let alone more than one.

As someone recently pointed out, you can buy a Roku or Chromecast for about the price of a one year XBox Live Gold membership.

I already have multiple blu-ray players for Netflix, however, I was just hoping for one box to do "everything" to simplify for the family.

Get a good programmable remote like a Harmony or the one I use, an AR-RX18G. It will switch all the inputs and stuff. My daughter has been able to control my HT equipment since she was 4 years old.
