Flicker on panning shots in TMT5

I'm getting a flicker when watching Blurays in TMT5. It only occurs in panning shots, and not on every Bluray. The flicker doesn't occur everywhere, it almost seems like it happens in the shadows. It is really annoying. I tried turning off TMT's auto deinterlace settings, but that didn't help. Ideas?

Edit: It only seems to happen on my 1080i Bluray (Planet Earth). The 1080p ones don't have the problem.

What type of video card are you running? Some cards perform much better then others when it comes to deinterlacing performance.

Its a ATI Radeon HD 5450.

ATI cards tend to have some of the best deinterlacing; I would check in CCC under your video settings and see what type of deinterlacing you have selected. Vector Adaptive is the best deinterlacing algorithm ATI offers.

I have the exact same Blu-Ray ( Planet Earth ) and it plays flawlessly. I do have an ATI 6570 though.

Thanks jscube! Do you use TMT as well? If so, I assume your settings in TMT are Use Hardware Acceleration = checked, and Video Mode = Auto Deinterlace?

Those are the exact settings I use. I also use AnyDVD HD but I highly doubt it would make a difference with concerns to your problem.

I also tested that blu-ray disc again and noticed on GPU-Z that my gpu utilization on that disc was much higher then normal, around 80% and higher. Maybe your gpu is topping out and may need to turn off some video enhancements or try a milder deinterlacing method.

I checked the load on my old gpu(HD5450) and it was at 80%. Out of curiosity, I purchased a new HD6750 and tried it out. I figured I would return it, if it didn't help. In the end, the new card makes a difference on the planet earth Blurays. I have yet to try a regular 1080p Bluray. I'm really quite surprised by the result, as I would expect the old HD5450 to do simple video stuff just fine. Maybe I got a bad card or something.
