H.264 MP4 Playback
I started a new thread since this has been awhile. The latest beta firmware allowed variable frame rate h.264 mp4 files to playback on the Echo. However, I still experience choppy playback on 720p and 1080p files. I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing the same behavior. I haven't heard much on this here or at AVS. Did people just accept and decide to wait? If it is smooth for you, what settings are you using on the Echo or Handbrake?

H.264 is problematic for me in MP4 but plays back fine in m2ts. Since most of my home videos are m2ts I put everything in m2ts. Everything I have is 1080 too.

I really don't want to remux my entire collection of 100s of movies, but this continues to be a problem with the Echo. Hate to say it but h.264 in wtv isn't even working yet, and I sure hope that's a priority over mp4 or any other container.

I've started researching accessing my movies through DLNA compatible Blu-ray players and TV's in the house. Right now the streaming media option (transcoding) looks to be my only choice with existing hardware. This is pushing me back to an Apple TV or buying a new Blu-ray player with native mp4 support. So much for one streamer to rule them all.
