Do extenders only do 720p internally?

Let me preface this by stating that the echo itself configured for 1080p output and the signal IS 1080p as it should be.

Not sure if this is normal (for all extenders) or echo related (thus the question), but when I look at the 411info page under dispay, I notice that it shows "width=1280, height=720" for both physical and logical display debug details on a channel that I know is sent as 1080i. (checked it using the cable co DVR which is set for "passthru".)
Time is on my side.

I checked my Xbox tonight, it does 1920x1080 phyisical and logical at a frame rate of 32.
So there is definitely something not right with the ceton.....

I noticed a similar problem. The Ceton works fine with my 1080p and my 720p TVs. It has trouble communicating with my
1080i (max) TV. I have to set the Ceton to 720p when connected to my 1080i TV for the display to work properly. My DVD
player and my Comcast cable box work with the display just fine.
