Half-height cases without a riser (but full ATX?)
Does such a beast exist? I'd like to get a little bit smaller case for my setup, but all of the half height cases I find seem to be MicroATX. It's difficult if not impossible to find a MicroATX withboard with three usable PCIExpress 1x slots and one 16x. This particular need kind of eliminates the use of riser cards as well, most of the ones I've seen don't offer enough PCIE slots.

If I had to guess I'd say there's no chance in hell you are finding Micro ATX with that many slots.
What is essential that you need 3 slots for? If it's three tuners I could see the problem, but if it's other add in cards like USB 3.0 there are work arounds to cut your needs down to one slot.

After a bit of research looks like you might be able to find a board with two slots, so that's a start.

If board makers were phasing out standard PCI completely three would fit, but I haven't seen any do that yet.

Use caution when downsizing cases, especially with the InfiniTV 4 card. Make sure there is plenty of clearance for the card to be installed.JTScribe wrote:I'd like to get a little bit smaller case for my setup

Well like I said, ideally I'd like to keep the same motherboard and cpu so I don't lose DRM'd recordings. I have a Ceton card and a pair of HVR-2250s, so 3 PCE1x slots are needed. Hence the half-height but full ATX question.LuckyDay wrote:If I had to guess I'd say there's no chance in hell you are finding Micro ATX with that many slots.

Thermaltake Mozart Sx is a good option.

use pcie ribbon extenders instead of a riser card if the slots are horizontal.
