I have cox cable. Infinitv pci with all the latest firmware. For my premium channels (HBO, etc) to work, during pairing, 3 numbers need to match, the Cable card ID, the Host ID, and the Data number. the problem is that if the tv hybernates or is ever rebooted, the Data number changes, and under Ceton diagnostic, it says there is a pairing problem, and need to receive another heather signal. now, most of my channles continue to work, but HBO now says you need to contact cable company to activate cable card (some of the other channels do the same.
What is the data number, and how is it generated?
Is there a way of keeping a static data number? why is it changing?
thanks for anyone with any thoughts. I have contacted cox, and of course they are clueless. I sent a ticket to ceton on Friday, and have not heard back yet.
