I am relatively new to all of this, and these forums have been extremely helpful.
I use WMC with 2 extenders( Xbox). The majority of the time, I don't encounter problems, but in the last week, every time I go in to the "Recorded Tv" menu, The xbox hangs for about 2 minutes, then everything works fine. I know there is probably a simple solution for this, and I'd like to get some help. as I was not able to find an answer here.
My setup is:
Alienware - Core i7 930
24 Gig Ram
ATI Radeon HD5870
6 1 TB WD black drives set p in RAID 5 Array
WIN 7 Ultimate
HD Homerun Prime 3 tuner
2 Xbox 360 as extenders
Wired Gigabit network throughout
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.

When in Recorded TV on the HTPC, everything works well? How many recorded shows?
It could be a spurious recording that hasn't been deleted properly.

I've heard others complain about this before. It usually turns out to be something wrong in the Media Center database file. Others will have to help you determine which file and how to rebuild it.
Also, I have to ask... is your operating system installed on that RAID-5? The reason I ask is because RAID-5 doesn't perform very well with random writes. You might get more bang for the buck if you use an SSD for your OS.

I do have the OS on an Intel 320 ssd. The machine is blazing fast, and works well.
STC - When I go to recorded TV on the HTPC, it pauses there as well. I try not to use Media Center on the actual HTPC, but use xbox extenders throughout the house.
Would it be wise to move all of the recorded tv programs out of the folder?
