Avermedia MTVCOMG2M / H797 Tuner Card - Low Volume

Hi,

I recently replaced a Hauppauge Roslyn tuner card with an Avermedia MTVCOMG2M /H797 in my Windows 7 Pro 32 bit HTPC. Nothing else was changed. The audio volume of the new TV recordings is much lower than with the old card, requiring a higher volume control setting for live TV or recording playback. Wouldn't be so bad if all the saved recordings were the same volume, but when I go from a new recording to one made with the Roslyn card - it just about blows me off the sofa!

I'm working with Avermedia tech support, but do not yet have an answer nor resolution. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if this is just the way it is, or is there a fix?

Thanks.

Additional info ... even watching live TV, when the audio is piped from the satellite receiver to the amp is now much louder than when the signal is routed through the HTPC with the H797 with the same amp and PC settings as before.
