Unable to load Newtonsoft.Json.dll

#1

Post by 12noon » Sun Nov 27, 2022 5:01 pm

Hi. I upgraded from 1.7.1.7 to 1.7.3.0 using setup.exe. Afterwards, EPG123 was unable to load the Newtonsoft.Json assembly. (See log below.) I downloaded the portable ZIP and extracted its Newtonsoft.Json.dll (13.0.1.25517 "Json.NET" 27 Nov 2022) over the existing Newtonsoft.Json.dll (10.0.3.21018 "Json.NET .NET 4.0" 7 Aug 2021). Now the EPG123 executables are happy. It seems that the setup.exe includes an old version of Newtonsoft.Json, but if that were true, I would expect to have seen other reports in the forum by now.

This is actually the second reported incident of this. The installer package has the correct version of the dll file, but looks like it may fail to copy over the existing one for some reason.

EDIT: What is more interesting is 1.7.1.7 was supposed to have 13.0.1.25517 as well.

I cannot download the guide from schedules direct since I upgraded to the latest version V1.7.3.0. When I open the EPG123 application It appears to be connecting to Schedules Direct. But when I log out and then try logging back in with the defaulted user and password it fails. When I retype my Password it will connect and show the line. Then when I try to save and exit for the updated schedules it gets to stage 2 and just quits. The log shows invalid user or missing token.

On repeated cycles of closing the EPG123 and reloading it the password always needs to be entered again. It does not appear to be updating or saving the latest password. Only the retyped password in memory seems to work for connecting.

Is is possible the change to the password in the recent update is not working?

If it is getting to stage 2, it has nothing to do with your password. Something else is going on to invalidate your token.
