EPG123 Client cannot be started without WMC being present

Getting 2 err msg running EPG123 Client: "WMC is not present on this machine. Closing EPG123 Client Guide Tool." After clicking OK, get "Could not verify Windows Media Center is installed on this machine. EPG123 Client cannot be started without WMC being present." I have never used Windows Media Center with Windows 10. I have been using NextPVR and Schedules Direct. What caught my attention was auto recording this week of The Price Is Right which should not happen as these are reruns and I had configured NextPVR to only record new episodes. Also the 3 episodes recorded this week use a date & time nomenclature instead of a season/episode nomenclature. Additionally my Schedule only runs thru 7 more days (normally I have 14 days). My guess is if the errors cannot be corrected, the NextPVR schedule will not update beyond August 25, 2021 and my other auto records will cease to occur. My last two Windows updates occurred on 8/15/21 and 8/10/21. I am guessing the culprit is within the 8/10/21 update as that is 8 days ago and my schedule is short 7 days. I don't believe NextPVR is part of the issue but my version is 4.2.4. If EPG123 Client does not run, updates from Schedules Direct do not occur.

After discovering this issue I upgraded EPG123 from ver 1.6.6.0 to ver 1.6.7.0 but the issue remains.

Sans a solution, my only choice would be to restore Windows 10 to pre-08/10/21 and hope a future update will not re-present the same issue.

My current Windows:
Edition - Windows 10 Home
Version - 21H1
Installed on - 11/29/2020
OS build - 19043.1165
Experience - Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0

EPG123, Schedules Direct, and NextPVR have worked well together for several years but maybe I should not keep relying on a combination which depends on configuration data of a program (Windows Media Center) which Microsoft Windows no longer supports.

I had responded to your comment on another thread, but basically you don't use the client which is tied to WMC. You just need to use the server component of epg123 to create an xmltv file.

Thank you Gary for both replies. I reinstalled EPG123 (server only) and no longer have the client program. I do recall recently that the Task Scheduler had moved into the server program (old habits die hard). I will address the rerun recordings within NextPVR (probably deleting and recreating that item in Recurring Recordings will resolve that).

I did rerun the Scheduled Task in EPG123 and I still have a schedule ending on 08/25/21. I will check tomorrow to see if it has advanced to, say 08/26/21. Maybe I am only getting 7+ days now instead of 14. My EPG123 config requests 21 days of download from Schedules Direct but I have not see more than 14 days for over 2 years. I will see if there is a way to verify what is actually being downloaded versus what I can see in NextPVR. The EPG123 log shows 21 days requested followed by Token Request Successful.

Again thank you so much for your quick response and I will update results tomorrow or Friday.

Anything else in the log to indicate a problem? You should be getting 17 days in the US. If everything looks good there, problem is with NextPVR importing the xmltv file.

I am in the U.S. Schedule in NextPVR is back to 2 weeks again (09/02 4:30 pm). I checked Plex and that schedule goes 2 days further (09/04 4:30 pm). I may change the request from 21 days to 17 to see if that impacts NextPVR but if not, 2 days is not a big deal for me. Thank you for saving me from myself (I did not roll back Windows update).
