New install
We've been enjoying WMC for years and the computer is misbehaving.
We'd like to move to newer hardware and set it up again. I'm thinking of getting an Intel NUC6i3SYH NUC.
The tuner is an HDHomeRun Prime Cable HDTV 3 tuner with CableCard.
I have my Win 7 Ultimate x86 disc and product key.
I'd be very grateful for instructions on how to do an install on a new PC.
I'm also wondering where to get the WMC bits, any Win 7 updates that are mandatory for it to work. DVD playback is not necessary.

The Intel NUC only supports W10. You may encounter issues trying to install Windows 7 on any new hardware. Your best course of action is to buy a used computer on eBay for cheap. You don't need more than an Intel Core 2 Duo system with 8GB of RAM.

RE: Intel NUC and Win 10: this post said they have it running with Win 7: viewtopic.php?p=119147#p119147
I'll keep an eye out for a machine. I'm still looking for how to set it up... Thanks.

Scallica is right. But just i3 cpu and 4gb ram is needed. WMC needs little power.
LGA 1150 cpu is the search term on ebay.
Millions of WMC users are happily staying with the best system for non 4K viewing. Which is most of TV.
Interesting that Haswell pricing is really high.

Thank you, I'll look into a machine with those characteristics.
Any pointers for setting up such a machine, after I install Win 7 from the DVD?

Windows 7 is not supported on the NUC; that doesn't mean Win7 won't run; it means Intel won't help you if you have an issue.

Windows 7 will run on older NUCs, just not the ones with newer generation Intel chips, probably 7th generation and newer.
It has to do with the Intel chip, not the actual enclosure, so if you upgrade, just look at the Intel chip compatibility for Windows 7:
