WMC loadmxf.exe error on import

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for my problem, but my scheduled import failed, and a manual import failed,
so I tried to run the command posted near the top of the thread.
I got no response in the command prompt window, but I got a Windows error that reads
Windows Media Center Store update manager has stopped working

not sure if I should "restore" "rebuild" or what.

I downloaded latest epg123 & installed.
in my log I see

Could you do a [Save & Execute] and post the error from the log file from when it tries to import the MXF file? Have you rebooted the computer and tried again? What OS are you running? Have you disabled any WMC tasks (mcupdate or mcupdate_scheduled) in Task Scheduler?

You will probably need to do a [Rebuild WMC Database] to clear this. I don't yet understand what the underlying process for the mcstoredb error is, so looking for as much information as I can get. In the past it has always been fixed by doing a rebuild of some sort which points to a database problem.

some other info - recently (last week or two) I have been getting WMC error messages something like "Windows Media Center has encountered an error and will shut down" these basically force me to reboot to open WMC again.

I had to reboot just to see if my shows were scheduled to record tonight, and that's when I saw my guide ends before 9pm today, which is why nothing is scheduled.
and that's how I figured out it was not running in the scheduler. so then I went to epg123, then here to look for answers.

I am running Win 7, because I think I am "trapped" by my Ceton InfinTV hardware.
I have not modified any Scheduled tasks in months. maybe ever!
looking in it now, I do not see any WMC tasks at all.
there is some Microsoft_Hardware_Launch stuff
some Microsoft_MKC_logon stuff
and some MicrosoftEdgeUpdate stuff

I went to start WMC to see if the schedule was in, and immediately got "windows media center has stopped working"

Your log is only showing the server part. Do you have the option to 'Automatically import...' enabled?

Based on the fact that you can't even open WMC, I would suggest opening the EPG123 Client and using the [Rebuild WMC Database]. Hopefully the database isn't so messed up that it prevent the client from opening.

automatically import is checked, but greyed out on the scheduled task tab of the configuration page.
not sure if that's what you mean.
I'm starting the Rebuild.

I guess I have to just select the epg123.mxf file, as it's the only thing in there to pick from.

WMC opened, and tonight's shows are now shown as scheduled, so I have to assume that the guide/schedule loaded!

"Wait, you still need to" verify your scheduled task is configured correctly. If you open the client, in the top left is the radio button selection "Full Mode" or "Client Mode"?

"full mode" is selected, but the whole section is greyed out.
it also says scheduled time 00:00

Okay, that means your scheduled task is present and will create the MXF file as well as import into WMC. I think you should be good to go now.
