No Guide Listings

#1

Post by drewp » Sat Mar 14, 2020 10:24 pm

Verizon changed the channel mapping, and when I tried to rerun things to get the new channels I broke something.
After reinstalling EPG things were OK for about a week, but now WMC has no guide data. And it says "guide listings will be out of date in 3 days".
WMC shows a TV icon with a red X, and today's date (3/14/2020)

I have NextPVR and it gets the listings from schedules direct, those look OK.

I tried to attach the log file to this message, but get the error message invalid file extension.
Instead here is the last entries

Code: Select all

You've got more problems than just that. Any reason why EPG123 would say the last time your file was updated was 235 days ago? Have you had a red status logo since 7/23/2019?

Please send your trace.log file to support@garyan2.net.

That confused me when I sow it in log file.

The epg123.mxf file in /c/ProgramData/GaRyan2/epg123/output does have a current date.
epg123.mxf: 6487262 bytes, Mar 15 09:06

I am running windows7.

Thanx for the help,
Drew

Okay, looks like the problem is your scheduled task.

At some point, you had installed EPG123 in C:\Program Files\epg123. You probably did this prior to me actually supporting installing it in the Program Files folders which would use the ProgramData folder for cache files and output files.

EPG123 is saving the output file in C:\ProgramData\GaRyan2\epg123\output\epg123.mxf.
Your task is importing the file at C:\Program Files\epg123\epg123.mxf.

Delete your current task and create a new one in to fix the import path.

Used the delete and create buttons to create the new task you recommended, then hit the save and execute button.
Saw progress bars go to completion. Now WMC guide has schedule info.

Thanx for creating the program and doing a great job supporting it.

Yours gratefully,
Drew

Have been using EPG123 / Schedules Direct with no problems. Today the guide listed 'no program data' for all channels. Using the MediaCenter settings menu for guide I tried to upload guide listing and it produced and error message that guide listings could not be uploaded. Verified Internet connection, etc .. Windows 7 machine. Not a lot of computer savvy here. (but your directions for install everything ran great until today) Thnx in advance

With EPG123 the WMC settings menu for updating the guide is no longer functional. You need to run EPG123 and do a save&execute to do manual guide updates. How long ago did you set up EPG123? It sounds like perhaps your nightly update task was not created properly.

Sweet, thanks. Opening EPG program showed 3 additional OTA programs were added. Save and Execute solved it.
