#1

Post by garyan2 » Fri Sep 07, 2018 7:26 am

Added some enhancements to further support the Modern Media UI+ theme (more series details and premiere dates) as well as the ability to create custom lineups.

I haven't had time to put anything together to describe how it works (since I don't yet have a GUI developed for it), but there is a new file in the ProgramData\GaRyan2\epg123 or [epg123]\ folder called customLineups.xml. If you open that up and take a look, you should be able to surmise what you can do.

The number and subnumber attributes for each station will be the channel number in the lineup.
The text of the station attribute (>#######</station>) is the stationId to use on the above channel number. You can see what those are based on the lineups you are subscribed to.
Only stations that are available within your subscribed lineups will be downloaded (checked) as part of the custom lineup.
The alternate attribute is there so if there is possibly another station available that has the same programming, it can be a backup. I envision that the primary is the "HD" version while the alternate could be the "SD" version

The other information in there, the callsign and name, are not required but will be used in the GUI in case neither the primary nor alternate are available in your subscribed lineups.

@garyan2

Does this version fix the epg123 xmltv file created for Plex?

I haven't had the chance to install it yet but look forward to doing it soon.

Thanks!

v1.2.5.10 will work for Plex. You can download it from the website and give it a shot.

Gary. I cannot seem to get the epg123.xmltv file generated to load into Plex. What did I miss? What settings are you using in epg123 to create the xmltv?

I don't see any specific instructions for upgrading. Is it as simple as installing the new version, and all the configurations continue on like normal? Is there any need to go through setup and/or setting up series recordings again?

Just need to run the installation package to copy over your existing installation. If you are upgrading from 1.2.1 or prior, you also need to delete your existing task and create a new one... there was a change in location where the .mxf file is saved.

Done. That was easy. I was on 1.1.7.

So the change in location--is that why the app needed to be run elevated to change some permissions?

Yes and No. The change in location corresponded with me adding the ability to install in the Program Files folder which meant all the cached files and generated files would be in the ProgramData folder. With that change I had to add a routine to make sure everyone had access to those folders, be they in the ProgramData folder or a custom folder if installed outside the Program Files folders.
